In June 2015, Tyred Eyes recorded two songs in the classic recording studio Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg. The preparations of the recording, that was done live during two days, were documented by film maker Nicklas Persson and is now released as a short film. The two new tracks are performed in it’s entirety in the film, and the songs are also being released as a single on Lövely Records.
Arms is the sequel to last year’s album Elevator, and musically the members of Tyred Eyes have dug deeper into shoegaze territory. Guitarist Oscar Brask has been added to the line-up, and he contributes to the band’s eclectic mix of indie, lo-fi, garage and punk. Bands like Sonic Youth, Superchunk, Yuck and Elbow, alongside themes of revolution, post apocalypse, morse code and the atom bomb are listed as inspiration for the new material.
